Coverage of the 3rd Presidential Debate
Written By: Randall S. Rinehart and Breanna L. Bolle
The 3rd Presidential Debate was chaotic. What exactly happened out there?
The topics that were discussed in the 3rd Presidential Debate of 2016 were The Supreme Court, Immigration, Economy, and ISIS.
During the third debate, the Supreme Court section discussed guns and abortion. While discussing immigration, Trump declared he wanted to build a wall to stop drugs, terrorism, and illegal immigrants. Hillary said she would give illegal immigrants a chance to become a citizen with a ‘package that included the path to citizenship’. In the section about economy, Trump decided he would lower taxes and government regulations, terminate NAFTA (if they couldn’t agree on the issue), and cut business taxes.
The candidates did not answer the questions effectively and precisely. They beated around the bush for nearly every question. Multiple times, the candidates’ statements didn’t come with solutions to the issue being discussed. The candidates did give multiple facts when stating their opinion, while other times, not. In addition, the candidates did not involve the audience much in the debate, and the candidates largely differentiated between each other’s views.
